Sheinata Carn-Hall says that her spirit led her to become a African jewelry designer, creator, business owner and personal stylist. “My spirit led me there and I knew it was what I needed to do in order to contribute to the world,” she says. More than 15 years ago Sheinata started her business, Reflections African Jewelry, and has been selling her African-inspired works of art at the City Market ever since.
The materials she uses are “gifts from the earth,” she says, using beads from natural and recycled materials for her bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings. The beads often have symbolic meaning and can be a daily reminder of our connection to the Earth and to each other, she says.
Sheinata has a weekly fashion blog and a Youtube channel where she puts together different outfits and shows how her jewelry can compliment the type of outfit she is wearing. Sheinata continued to speak of her inspiration. “People inspire me, their desire to be unique, to be beautiful and to be happy. My jewelry does all of that for my customers.” I create because it is my path and purpose.”
